Terms & Conditions

The plain terms of buying and using Quill.

Quill is software you buy once and run on your own computer. These terms say who you are buying from, what your license covers, and how refunds work — in plain language.

Who you are dealing with

Quill is written and published by Mauricio Longo, a sole proprietor based in Brazil, under the Greisson imprint. Greisson is a brand, not a company; Mauricio Longo is the direct author, copyright holder, and the party you contract with when you buy Quill. Wherever these terms say "we" or "us," they mean Mauricio Longo.

Order processing & Merchant of Record

Your purchase is handled by our online reseller. The following applies to every order:

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

This means Paddle — not us — takes your payment, issues your receipt, charges any applicable taxes, and processes refunds. Payment-card and billing details are handled by Paddle; we never see or store your card information.

What your license covers

Buying Quill grants you a perpetual license to install and use Quill for your own writing. It is usable today: you get the working beta now, every update as it ships, and the 1.0 release when it arrives — at no additional cost. The price you pay is for the license, not a promise of a future version.

Quill is software you run on your own computer — it is not a hosted service, a subscription, or a website you log in to. It keeps no account and has no telemetry; its only connections are optional downloads — update checks and language packs — never uploads of you or your book (see our privacy note). Your manuscript is yours, in plain files on your own disk.

The license is for your individual personal or professional use. Your license is yours to work with, including client work. Support stays with the license holder. You may install Quill on the computers you use. A license belongs to one person. Each person who uses Quill needs their own. Please do not resell, sublicense, or redistribute Quill or your license key, and do not attempt to defeat the license mechanism.

Refunds

If you buy and Quill turns out not to be for you, ask within 14 days and we refund you in full — no questions asked. The full details are on our refund policy page. Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, Paddle processes the refund back to your original payment method.

A refunded or charged-back purchase loses access to updates. The copy of Quill you have keeps working — nothing we do can ever disable the app on your machine — but the update feed requires a license in good standing.

Delivery & activation

After your payment is confirmed, your license key is shown on the confirmation page and a copy is sent to the email address you used at checkout. You activate Quill by pasting the license key into the app — no account and no internet connection are required to activate. Downloads for Windows and Linux are available from the Get Quill page.

Warranty & liability

We work hard to make Quill reliable, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Quill is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.

Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, where Mauricio Longo is based. We may update these terms as Quill evolves; the version published here is the one that applies. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date below.

Questions

Questions about these terms, your license, or an order? Reach us through the contact page — a person reads it. For payment, receipt, or refund queries, Paddle's customer support can also help as the Merchant of Record.
